Not totally unexpected
but I was hoping it would turn out differently
this once...
Can you see me
past my wallet?
Can I get past your thoughts
and into your heart?
Will I be seeing the real you
while all that money
is hanging over your head like a threat?
As much as I want to stay positive
a big part of me
is very much saddened
by this event...
I really am at a loss
I do not know what my next step should be
I have done all I can
I guess
I better to leave it
to the One who knows best...

We cannot control other people's intention towards us. Perhaps they are honest, perhaps they are not. Perhaps they are sincere, perhaps they have an agenda.
The only thing that is in our control is our intention. So long as we will never be ashamed of our intention, then so be it. Only Allah SWT can repay good deeds with its true measure.
But seriously, darling. You need to get fresh crop of people around you. People who will be good for you, to you just as you will be good to them and for them.
