Revisit Suria

My original plans for today fell through so I decided to practice taking pictures at Suria.

There was a makeup promotion at the central court.

And right outside, Petronas and Yamaha were promoting the ongoing superbike race.

This young lady was kind enough to give me a pose. Much appreciated! You're lovely! (yang lagi sorang tu kekwat tul! wei! toksah jadi race queen le kalau tak suka diambil gambo! cehhh!!!)

Opps! Stop for lunch break ;) Here's (one of) my favourite- sizzling chicken noodle.

Though I really shouldn't, I relented and had a banana split for dessert *sigh~ bila ler nak hilang 6kg yang dah bertambah ni...

I thought of capturing a reflection of the Twin Towers but it was still too huge! Impossible with the 50mm lens I had on and I was too lazy too switch to kit.

This gentleman looked so serene, I just had to take a shot :)

Sebenarnya mood aku lari sangat-sangat. Tengah nak cuba gembirakan diri ler ni, huhu!

Riang Ria Diwali Raya

Sekali lagi aku dijemput ke sebuah acara kelolaan member aku, Abang Zainul.

Tengok kepelbagaian juadahnye aje dah rasa cukup meriah! Mi, nasi, soto, barbecued chicken wings, lemang dan rendang, kuih-muih, buah-buahan, bubur kacang durian... perggh!!!

Staf sedang bersedia untuk membuat persembahan perasmian. Weh! Sempat lagi korang posing padahal nak kena naik stage dah ni!

Korang penah tengok dokumentari National Geographic tentang ikan piranha di hutan hujan Amazon? Haa... ni versi manusia :P

Sambil makan-makan tu, muncul pula acara yang aku paling tunggu...

...persembahan paper dolls! Bukan semua orang mampu terima show macam ni.

Tapi staf syarikat ni memang sempoi ler... Dalam takut-takut tu layan gak! Hampir tak dapat concentrate aku amik gambo sebab dok gelak memanjang :P

Dan lagi satu perkara yang aku suka, diorang ni photo friendly. Tak perlu bagitau ke, signal ke, memang diorang dah pose siap-siap.

Diva ni cantek uolls!!! Dia bawa show lagu 'Tak Ada Logika' dengan cukup bertenaga! Malangnya banyak aksi dia aku miss sebab flash overheated :'(

All around, very realistic and entertaining performances! Congratulations!

Anak buah salah sorang staf. Could have been a great photo if not for the dark shadows. A flash may be essential for an open air night time event like this but I also discovered that it was very limiting.

Lepas tu acara khas untuk staf. Dimulai dengan chicken dance...

...dan diikuti dengan joget lambak!

Ahaks! Ni official photographer diorang. He's a 'Canon', tapi dia banyak gak beri tunjuk ajar pada aku. Terima kasih bebanyak ye!

Jalan-jalan Raya: the last kopek!

Banyak tul jemputan last minute ni tau?

Ayie sekeluarga buat jamuan 3 hari sebelum Syawal habis, betul-betul tepat tang Diwali :P

Kawasan kejiranan aku lak buat jamuan pada hari Ahad selepas Diwali. Eh, ada NTV7 buat liputan ke? Ntah tersiar atau tidak sebab diorang ni memang rajin ke hulu ke hilir cari bahan buat stok.

Hah! Ni lagi parah! Dah masuk 7 hari raya Hindu baru ler Nazir dan Ana tergerak hati buat jamuan :P

Gambar di bawah ni semata-mata nak tunjuk aku tengah belajar nak setting flash. Adeh... complicated sungguh!

Mulanye terang benderang subjek aku, siap dengan shadow. Cuma nasib angle baik aje yang buatkan shadow tu kurang gelap!

Ni time dah pandai skit :) tiada lagi bayang-bayang hitam yang menyakitkan mata. Baru ler nampak berseri muka subjek tu...

Penghargaan buat Ayie, AJK Kejiranan Kawasan Kolam Air, Nazir juga Faiez dan Fin yang cukup sabor berposing sementara aku dok kalut adjust flash :P

Mimpi yang sempurna...

Note to self...

When the towkay told me,

"Make sure you put a lid on them. They jump!"

I foolishly presumed that by putting them in a fairly large pond (as compared to a big aquarium) would reduce and perhaps even prevent the risk of jumping.

And thus my hope of watching arowanas frolick in my pond, happy and healthy, was dashed :'(

When I got back from work, I found the smaller one a meter away from the pond while the bigger one- TWO frigging METERS away!!! There goes RM300 into the rubbish bin.

Mungkin duit kurang berkat kot... Tapi kalau betul, kesiannye ikan tu, perlu hilang nyawa untuk beri pedoman kat aku :'(

I hope my other investment, the KATA rucksack, would work out better.

P.S. I wonder what other freshwater predatory fish would be suitable for controlling the currently burgeoning guppy population in my pond?

Surprise!!!

Life enjoys throwing you curve-balls.

Life loves to hit you when you least expect it.

Life exults in suddenly jumping out at you and saying 'boo!!!'.

We received a call this afternoon informing us that the aunt currently in ICU had taken a turn for the worst. Knowing our difficulties, the aunt's stepdaughters offered to pick us up.

On the way, the stepdaughters were telling us how their own mother was currently unwell. Granted, this aunt had been on peritoneal dialysis for some time now but she seemed to have stabilized. It was only since last night that she had a touch of diarrhea.

And so we went in to see the ICU aunt. She was obviously ill, quite weak, unable to talk but seemed to be quite aware and active. Thus reassured, we all went back.

9.30p.m. Another call by one of the stepdaughters led us to assume that ICU aunt had finally passed on. But, surprise surprise, it was the aunt with the diarrhea who passed away...

Our weekend plans have been cancelled. To our funny and chatty aunt, Rohana Ismail, you will be missed. Al-Faatihah...
